Jane Kerns

A beloved member of the Kinney Shores community

The Kinney Shores Association mourns the passing of Jane Anita Chadbourne Kerns, who passed away on September 1, 2024, at the age of 79. Jane was a cherished presence in our community, and her warmth, dedication, and spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Jane had a distinguished career in nursing, bringing the same care and dedication to her patients that she brought to every corner of her life. Her professional calling reflected who she was at her core — someone who showed up fully for others, no matter the circumstances.

Jane was deeply devoted to her family, and that devotion extended naturally to the Kinney Shores community she called home. She was heavily involved with the Kinney Shores Association for many years, serving on the board and ultimately as President — a role she approached with the same strong convictions and genuine care for neighbors that defined everything she did.

Brian Mula-Howard, President of the Kinney Shores Association, shared this remembrance: "In addition to her amazing career in nursing and her deep devotion to family, Jane was heavily involved with the Kinney Shores Association for many years — particularly in her years on the board and as President. I will always remember Jane for her kindness, generosity, and strong convictions, and know I join many others in saying she will be sorely missed."

Jane is buried at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco, Maine. She is deeply missed by her family, her friends, and all who were fortunate enough to share summers with her at Kinney Shores.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Jane's family. Her memory will live on in the community she loved so dearly.
